The Association to the
Memory of
Cardinal Enrico Dante
The Association to the Memory of Cardinal Dante is intended as a network of Swedish friends of the Institute of Christ the King. We also wish to honour the memory of the great Cardinal and Papal MC, as well as contribute to a revival of the traditional Roman liturgy in Sweden.
In the spirit of the motu proprio "Summorum Pontificum" from 2007, and under the protection of Saint Francis of Sales, Saint Benedict, Saint Thomas of Aquinas and Saint Bridget of Sweden, we endeavor to help the Institute in its apostolate in the Diocese of Stockholm.
Especially dear to us are the care and preservation of the traditional Latin liturgy and the rich heritage of Christian Europe.
For several years the Institute of Christ the King visited Sweden two Sundays every month, before establishing itself in the Diocese in the Fall of 2011. Its priests offer holy Mass in Stockholm and Lund. They also bless weddings, administer holy Baptism and assist the Diocese in the training of those priests who show an interest in the classical or Gregorian form of the Roman rite.
In 2005, Msgr Schmitz, Vicar General of the Institute, visited Sweden and was received by His Grace Anders Arborelius, Bishop of Stockholm. A second meeting accurred in April 2008; a third in 2010. Bishop Arborelius has visited the Institute's house in Chicago on repeated occasions.
